07/07/2009 Dominique Conterno's victory over Nigel Turner's Grob opening, tonight in the Club Championship, resulted in Dominique wining this year championship.
23/06/2009 The Club Championship last round has just been published. All games to be played by mid July 2009.
15/05/2009 The Northamptonshire County Chess Association AGM (2009) will take place on the 15 June 2009, 7.30 p.m. at the Toller Church Rooms in Kettering. Please attend if you are interested.
13/05/2009 The Chess Mates A team beat last night Northampton Chess Club A team with the score of 3.5/1.5, thus finishing first in the Silver King 1st division league this year. Well Done to all the Chess Mates players who throughtout the season played in the A team!!!

08/04/2009 Kettering A defeated Chess Mates A with the score 3-2 and thus won the Northants Knockout Tournament. Well done Kettering A!!!

This tournament is held in remberance of John Robinson who did so much work for county chess for a period
of over forty years.
To show your appreciation please support this event, which was due to take place in January but had to be cancelled due to lack of entries.

28/01/2009 The ChessMates A team beat Kettering B in the Silver King Knockout semi-finals , 4.5-0.5. The final will be played in March between Chesmates A and Kettering A.
19/01/2009 Congratulation to James Jackson who has been selected in the 2009 English Junior Squad. James will be playing some Junior world class tournaments in the next few months.
17/01/2009 Please note that the John Robinson Rapid Play Championship that was to take place on January 18th at Kettering, has been cancelled.

28/12/2008 John Robinson Rapid Play Championship 2008/2009 will take place on the 18 January 2009 at Toller Church Rooms, Meeting Lane, Kettering. 18/12/2008 The Club Championship pairing is now available. Note that all unplayed games from round 1 have been adjudicated as draws. This round must be completed by end of March 2009.
15/12/2008 The Northampton Chess Club Jack Cochran Memorial Tournament, at which members of Chess Mates are invited to participate, will be played on Wednesday 17th December 2008 at Queens Park WMC, starting at 7.30pm. As in previous years, Mrs Cochran will present the trophy to the winner. There is an entry fee of £1 to cover expenses for this tournament.
27/11/2008 Congratulation to our Chess Mates Club Member, Daniel Jazdzewski, who won with 3 other players, the Milton Keynes Intermediate Congress that took place on 14th - 16th November 2008. His final score was 4 out of 5 (+4, =0, -1).
23/11/2008 Our first team was defeated by the other Chess Club in Northampton. Both Clubs are now leading the 1st Division table with 4 wins and 1 loss each.
30/10/2008 The A teams leads the Slver King 1st Division League with 4 wins out of 4 matches
27/10/2008 The A Team has won its second match (5-0) against the B team. The A Team is now leading with Northampton Chess Club, which has won its first three matches, the Silver King League 1st Division competition.
01/10/2008 Pairing for the 2008/9 Club Championship is finshed - check the Championship page. All players should contact their opponents and agree to play round 1 by Sunday 16th November 2008 latest. Games can be either played at the Chess Mates Chess Club or at an alternative venue of their choices.
30/09/2008 Chess Mates A and B Teams have started the Silver King League Season (1st Division) excessively well by winning their 1st match, both with the same score: 3-2.
